Conservative Columnist

This article is mostly interesting because of the strong conservative view. Hartsock brings up past presidents and talks about the methods of conservatives and liberals.

I find it incredible that some one so young could be so knowledgeable about events that occurred long before he was born.

It's a good thing we old timers have young men like this to instruct us about what REALLY happened in our lifetimes.

I'm sure this fellow has arrived at all his conclusions through rigorous, independent thought and research rather than relying on the rants of zealots and reactionaries for his information. That's why his views are so "fair and balanced."

Is this guy an intern for the Fox Network?

It's called "history". Anyone can interpret it.

Having lived through the time, it is refreshing to read a youthful commentary which asserts the facts as opposed to parroting the "given" from behind a "Che" t-shirt.

Good one, anonymous! I guess one person's "facts" are another's B.S.

And I like the Che comment. It is so typical of many reactionaries and revisionists to lump all "liberals" with left wing revolutionaries. Makes them all seem so threatening. But that is the point, isn't it?

I beg to differ. The Che shirt merely represents the superficiality of the default mentality. The forces of history are not given a second thought, or if they are, the political ends served are of problematic significance beyond the culturally attitudinal.

Who wrote that -- George Will?

I really don't see much difference between a naive young man wearing a Che t-shirt and a young "true believer" who mindlessly spouts the revisionist "history" he finds on whacko right-wing websites.

I would hope that both would eventually find a more objective, balanced view of "reality."
